Fly fishing

The Fly Lochs

Our two fly fishing lochs are stocked regularly with rainbow and brown trout. The clear Aberdeenshire water and natural surroundings make for outstanding fishing throughout the season — from the first hatches of spring through to the golden days of autumn.

Both lochs fish well on a wide range of patterns. Dry flies, nymphs, buzzers and lures all produce fish depending on the conditions. Ask us when you arrive — we will always point you in the right direction.

Rainbow Trout

Our most abundant species. Bold, hard-fighting fish that respond well to a wide range of fly patterns. Stocked regularly throughout the season.

Brown Trout

The native Scottish trout. More cautious and selective than the rainbow, but deeply rewarding to catch. A true test of presentation and patience.

Bait fishing

The Bait Pond

Our dedicated bait pond offers a more relaxed style of fishing — perfect for beginners, families with children, or anyone who simply wants to enjoy a peaceful afternoon by the water without the technicality of fly fishing.

The pond is stocked and fishes well throughout the season. Bring your own bait rod, or hire one from us, or ask us for advice on what to use.

No experience necessary — just turn up, buy a 3 hour ticket, and enjoy the water.
